29. Poole Harbour, low tide

A good low tide in Poole Harbour leaves a soft but walkable bed of silt and mud that stretches out for a mile.  You get to meet all sorts of people out there, from those laboriously toting their redundant windsurfers to groups of clam - diggers that look as though they're supplying the local Chinese community.  Not so many artists complete with easels though, and a supporting cast that looks pure slapstick.
