Abandoned

June 2008 saw me travel to Romania for the first time to pursue a growing interest in photographing abandoned premises. My thanks are due to a Romanian photographer, anonymous by his preference, who identified the sites photographed here, and importantly, worked out how to gain access. There seems much less likelihood that the abandonment of a major site in eastern Europe will result in an immediate high fence and security guards, and rapid demolition. These things can hang around, and it’s a type of photography I hope to do more of.
