architecture

My first major assignment involved producing prints from locations where my client operated. This meant photographing in some of the most interesting cities in the world and a great deal of travel over 2-3 years. I had little experience of this type of work, and I got the project primarily because they liked my landscapes and hoped that I might bring something of the same feel to cities. Typically I would spend three days in a city and photograph a series of researched locations as well as tramping the streets to find new ones-  which certainly got me into the habit of urban photography.

I’m a sucker for innovative architecture and so unsurprisingly the work of Frank Gehry, Gaudi, and IM Pei features strongly in my collections. More recently I’ve included more vernacular architecture, and this is represented here too.
